Disasters, outages, failures can come from all manner of sources.  Weather, fire, or man-made disasters such as vandalism, theft or just plain human error, you name it.  
According to this article from ZDNET.com, a loud noise caused a 10 hour outage for a Romanian bank, and also caused "...serious and irrevocable damage" to some hard drives.  

What? A loud noise?  Yes, you heard that right...they were doing some testing of a fire suppression system and it caused a very loud noise, which created some serious vibrations that caused the damage.
